Is the glass half empty, or is the glass half full? Rather than ponder all of the
philosophical possibilities of that simplistic yet probing question, let's confine
our discussion to a virtual glass and ask is the virtual glass half full or half empty?
To be viewing this page, you are seeing the virtual glass. In a virtual reality, the
question becomes, "How full do you want the glass to be?" As proof of that preposterous
claim, I refer you to the inset photo of the big blue wave directly above these words.
As you can see, I have chosen for my glass to be very full indeed.
Can computers and the Internet fill your glass with the metaphorical wave? That is the
challenge of the computer programmer and the Web designer. Of the many things computers can
do, one of the most exciting is to be able to amplify the brilliance of an individual
manifold, or a business idea manifold. You can even borrow the brilliance of others as I
have done in creating this page. The template was downloaded, pictures were added, and text
content was written, and the downloaded code was upgraded and debugged. The computer allows
a Web page to be created for your business so that your glass (or cup) may runeth over.
Please look at these homework assignments and consider what computers can do for you.
